There is no confirmation on where Beaufort nicked his information from, but the rumored Chromebook Pixel is touted to come with an ultra high resolution display at 2,560 x 1,700 pixels, meaning there are more than 4 million pixels to deliver eye popping visuals.
There was a promotional video put up earlier on Google+, but unfortunately, it must have gotten the attention of those in high places at Google, since said promotional video was removed afterwards. Good thing the Internet has a memory now, as someone managed to nick it and upload said video to Daily Motion.
The video mentioned that the Chromebook was “Designed by Google, down to the last pixel.” Assuming this is true, then a high resolution touchscreen Chromebook is well on its way. So far, those who watched the video can infer that there will be at least a couple of USB ports thrown into the mix, alongside an Ethernet port, an audio jack, and perhaps even an SD memory card slot.
How much do you think the Chromebook Pixel would cost, assuming it escapes from the realm of the unicorn and enters our reality?
